We're supporting local businesses, island wide.
A strong local economy means real prosperity and resiliency. It means relying less on foreign goods and services, empowering local people, and protecting Hawaiʻi’s sense of place for the future. More than ever before, our community needs all the help we can get to connect and share information and resources in a safe and digital way.
That’s why we created the Kamaʻāina Directory—to connect locally owned, independent businesses to thousands of residents and visitors, and, most importantly, to each other. We envision a connected, resilient island community, and a thriving local economy based on strong relationships, equitable opportunities, and doing business the pono way—with honesty, integrity, and positivity in mind.
Who We Are
The Kamaʻāina Directory is a membership-based marketing and business development program started in 2020 to support and promote locally owned, independent Hawaiʻi Island businesses. The Directory’s audience is powered by Big Island Pulse, a company dedicated keeping our island informed, connected, entertained, and supported while connecting local businesses to the communities they serve through online advertising.
